Center for IT-based Education

eHELP

We have concluded agreements on transferring credits with other universities and technical colleges, and offer remote classes.
For details about remote classes, or delivered or received courses, see below.
You can learn about the courses we deliver using Moodle.

What is a remote class based on the credit transfer system?

Aiming at the R&D of a new educational system, educational methods, educational materials, etc. in the university as well as human resource development, we started to promote a Multimedia University Pilot Study (MUPS) project in 1996.
In this project, we implemented commercial LMS (WebCT) in 2001, and have promoted the use of e-Learning in on-campus classes.
More particularly, we are working on the implementation of e-Learning and the development of contents for e-Learning by starting educational material projects (Table 1) and developing educational materials for e-Learning.

For asynchronous remote education using the Internet, we performed the Project of IT utilization promotion in higher education in 2002 and 2003 with 13 institutions, aiming at the development and offering of a “Remote Education Model” in cooperation with universities, etc.

In this project, we concluded agreements on transferring credits with 10 institutions (Toyohashi University of Technology; Nagaoka University of Technology; Kyushu Institute of Technology; Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology; the National Institute of Technology, Sendai College; the National Institute of Technology, Gunma College; the National Institute of Technology, Gifu College; the National Institute of Technology, Toyota College; the National Institute of Technology, Suzuka College; and the National Institute of Technology, Niihama College) as well as engineering universities (Muroran Institute of Technology, Kitami Institute of Technology, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, the University of Electro-Communications, Nagaoka University of Technology, Nagoya University of Technology, Toyohashi University of Technology, Kyoto Institute of Technology, Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, and Nara Institute of Science and Technology), and offer remote classes to universities, graduate schools and national institutes of technology .
Currently, e-HELP (e-learning Higher Education Linkage Project), which aims to develop large-scale e-Learning in cooperation with various institutes of higher education, is being advanced based on the results of the project of IT utilization promotion in higher education.
